About a year ago, when my middle child started to have a severe case of eczema, I did some research on how to help her skin heal without using chemically based lotions. I found by doing some research and talking to my sister-in-law who has a child with eczema, that Omega 3 helps to heal the skin from severe dryness. As you may know, colon cleanses are a big thing to do these days. Do we really need to do them? Well it really all depends if you have a healthy bowel system. If you have a bowel movement (not runny bowels or constipation) at least three times a day you are doing pretty good. I decided to do the colon cleanse because I heard some great results from friends who had done the cleanse bought from NaturalCuresStore.com.
I’m a pretty regular person but it doesn’t hurt to clean out 34 years of junk in my colon. My husband also decided to go on the cleanse with me. It made making dinners easy for me. :-).
What is the Purpose of the Colon Cleanse?

At the end of the cleanse you slowly introduce your self to food starting off with salad and working your way to a healthy diet. I lost four pounds during this process. My husband lost five. My first post has to be on the weight loss program that I used from the NaturalCuresStore.com. The weight loss program is mirrored from the book written by Kevin Trudeau, “The Weight Loss Cure.” Instead of using the hCG hormon shot (actual women’s hormone) the OraThin diet uses all natural supplements. I personally hate shots and thinking about putting someone elses hormones in my body does not excite me. Anyhow, I typically don’t take diet pills but after three kids I needed a little help. I needed to lose between 35-40lbs. I waited to start the diet when I had stopped nursing. This was back a few months ago. Now the diet calls for a strict 500 calorie a day diet plus taking the pills. I actually was not that strict but definately keep the amount of Calories under 1000. The booklet that comes with the diet tells you exactly what you are to eat and how to monitor the calorie intake.
Side Note: If you want, you can actually buy what is called the Complete Package (this is the heavy duty diet). It comes with all the supplements you need to take and all the teas you should drink. You can certainly go that route. I had most of the supplements already so I didn’t need to purchase the complete package. There are several options that you can choose from or you can just stick with the pills.
Anyhow, my first step was to do a colon cleanse. (I’m going to write about that in another post) You don’t have to do it but I’ve never done one and I was curious as to how much “junk” was in my colon. My husband and I did the colon cleanse together. The cleanse lasted 7 days for me. I lost four pounds. So that was a great start for me. My first week on the diet I lost 5 pounds. After that it was about 2-3 pounds a week sometimes more. Yes, I did cheat a little. I have such a sweet tooth. I reached my goal in about a 1 1/2 months. Like I said I wasn’t that strict. If I were strict with the diet I most likely would have reach my goal in a month or less. Keep in mind if you do try the OraThin Diet that results will vary.
I am now pregnant again so I will certainly use this method again for losing my baby weight next time around. My last two pregnancy weight lose “programs” didn’t go so well. It took me almost a year to lose weight between the first and second pregnancy and also the third. This time around I got to be myself for several months. It was nice to be thin again.
